Lounges 2010: Meeting point for the Healthcare Community

Bayer Technology Services (BTS) will be presenting its healthcare product and services portfolio on stand B2.2 at Lounges 2010 in Karlsruhe from March 16-18. One highlight of the BTS stand will be the new process-optimized cell cultivation technology BaySHAKE^®. With this innovative disposable bioreactor platform, BTS has developed a hydrodynamic motion concept for surface or membrane aeration. With no moving internal parts, it provides a scalable supply of oxygen and ensures thorough mixing of the cell culture solution without bubble entrainment, i.e. with particularly low shear. The technology platform currently features very simple and cost-effective reactors for surface aeration.

Under the heading “Microprocessing Technology at a Glance”, the BTS subsidiary Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS GmbH will be demonstrating on an activity stage (A2) how quickly and easily microreaction systems for laboratories and pilot plants can be set up and reconfigured. Microprocessing technology speeds up the development of new products enormously. Microreaction systems also deliver higher yields and selectivity in a minimum of space.

The Lounges concept combines the basic idea of a trade fair with the aims of a presentation event. Innovative products and new topics are brought together and presented in a special setting. Last year this concept succeeded in attracting more than 4,000 visitors.
