Our lab is equipped to determine all data required for filtration and drying processes. Basic investigations are carried out to evaluate whether a specific separation process is practicable. Tests in the pilot plant are then performed to decide on the next steps in cooperation with the customer.

Leveraging our years of process expertise and knowledge of the market, we can also provide support during engineering and start up of the production unit.

A typical development sequence for a hot filter press project is as follows:

• laboratory testing of filtration, washing, and dewatering;
• investigation of squeezing kinetics;
• investigation of the drying kinetics;
• development of a concept for pilot-scale testing;
• use of a pilot unit (470 mm) for drying tests in the filter press using an extensive assortment of filter plates;
• submission of a test report;
• development of a process concept and scale up of a suitable production press.

We can also investigate all other solid-liquid separation processes. Our spectrum of services encompasses filtration, sedimentation, centrifugation, washing, squeezing, cross-flow filtration, clarifying, thickening and conditioning. We offer solutions for debottlenecking, troubleshooting and optimizing of existing processes and apparatus. We also perform market analyses on behalf of the customer.
