Our approach

We provide consultancy before you order and select the optimum approach for solving your problem. The measuring techniques used in our laboratories are being continuously improved, in some cases in cooperation with university institutes around the world.

Our substance data laboratory has been certified to GLP.

Models and software:

  • Aspen Plus®; VTPLAN (in-house simulator) and all relevant thermodynamic models;
  • predictive methods, e.g. UNIFAC, COSMO-RS, turbomole;
  • entrainer selection, in-house developments.

Experimental methods:

  • vapor pressure, T < 350 °C, 10-5 hPa < P < 70 MPa (dynamic; static; gas saturation; balance);
  • density, -20 °C < T < 500 °C, P < 35 MPa (vibrating tube, pycnometer, buoyancy balance);
  • viscosity, -20 °C < T < 500 °C, P < 10 MPa (rotational rheometer, Ubbelohde, Höppler);
  • heat capacity, melting enthalpy, transition enthalpy, crystallinity, glass transition temperature, 30 °C < T < 300 °C (calorimeter);
  • thermal conductivity (liquid and gas) -30 °C < T < 200 °C, 0.1 MPa < P < 1.5 MPa (hot wire);
  • vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE), T < 400 °C, P < 6,000 hPa (static, dynamic, headspace GC);
  • solubility of gases in liquids (GLE), T < 230 °C, 1 hPa < P < 30 MPa (static);
  • activity coefficients at infinite dilution, 30 °C < T < 350 °C (differential ebulliometer, inverse GC);
  • solubility and diffusion coefficients in polymers, T < 350 °C, 5 hPa < P < 30 MPa (pressure decay method, inverse GC);
  • liquid-liquid equilibria (LLE) and vapor-liquid-liquid equilibria (VLLE), T < 230 °C, 1 hPa < P < 30 MPa (static);
  • phase equilibria in chemically reacting systems (VLE) 10 °C < T < 230 °C, 30 hPa < P < 1 MPa (stationary reactor with on-line IR);
  • high-pressure phase equilibria (VLE, VLLE, SLE, phase behavior) -30°C < T < 200 °C, P < 30 MPa (view cell, variable volume, sampling);
  • solid-liquid equilibria (SLE), -30 °C < T < 230 °C (static);
  • analysis: GC, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, SPME-GC-MS, headspace GC, inverse GC, HPLC, FTIR, potentiometry, volumetry, ion chromatography;
  • boiling point, melting point, refractive index.
