Mixing Technology
Innovative solutions for your dispersion and formulation task!
Our approach
Our approach We can draw upon solid expertise in the chemicals, polymers and life science fields to solve process-related problems pertaining to:
- emulsification processes;
- dispersion of solids in liquids;
- dispersion and chemical reaction;
- melt dispersion of solids;
- continuous mixing processes;
- microencapsulation in the liquid phase;
- formulation of liquid dispersions with subsequent drying;
- cell rupture processes.
The design of jet mixing and dispersion units is underpinned by a comprehensive collection of measured data and engineering correlations.
At our disposal are:
- multiple and flexibly combinable systems for mixing and dispersion in liquids: rotor-stator machines, high-pressure jet systems, ultrasonic homoginizers, special systems for continuous and batch operation;
- high-pressure pump systems for use up to 1,500 bar and throughputs of up to 1 m3/h;
- extremely well equipped laboratory and pilot plant for trials on scales from 10 mL to 1 m3;
- miniature (melt) dispersion unit for small-scale recipe and tenside screening;
- state-of-the-art measuring technology for rapid investigation of flow phenomena: laser-doppler anemometry (point measurement) and particle image velocimetry (field measurement).
For fundamental physical characterization, we utilize tensiometry (interfacial and surface tension measurement for the selection of tensides) or viscometry (selection of process according to flow behavior of the starting materials; identification of product properties).
