Catalysis
Catalysis is a key technology in industrial processes
Our approach
We characterize and test catalysts using innovative apparatus-based methods.
You benefit from:
- our state-of-the-art laboratory reactors for the rapid screening of catalysts;
- our reactors for catalytic measurements in batch, semi-batch and continuous operation;
- our experience with high pressures (up to 300 bar) and aggressive media.
In addition to conventional suspension and fixed bed reactors, we routinely use fluidized bed and multifunctional reactors (e.g. reactive rectification and membrane reactors).
We have available an extensive range of apparatus for the performance of a broad spectrum of tests, e.g. for quality assurance in the manufacture of catalysts, for the analysis of operating problems and for identifying structure/property correlations:
- physicochemical methods for the static characterization of catalysts (REM/TEM, XPS, SIMS, sorption methods);
- dynamic characterization using temperatureprogrammed methods;
- in situ characterization of catalysts (DRIFTS, DRUVS, gravimetric methods).
We are able to manufacture catalysts on laboratory scale and in sample quantities and have experience with the catalytic coating of substrate structures. Special units allow gentle catalyst regeneration.
We also offer modern mathematical methods to support the development of catalysts and catalyzed processes. These include:
- molecular modeling;
- design of experiment;
- models for the dynamic simulation of catalytic reactors.
