Typical process analysis for optimization of batch-operated filter-centrifuges

Our approach

Based on your needs and your process, we will screen the separation properties to determine relevant parameters, such as filtration kinetics, demoisturing kinetics and equilibrium in the centrifugal field. The proper separation techniques can then be quickly selected for your product.

Depending on product behavior, we perform scale-up tests or optimization tests on the laboratory and/or the pilot scale. In many cases, our methods enable us to perform reliable scale-up on the basis of lab test results and make recommendations for equipping or refitting your centrifuges.

Comparison of mathematical model and measured values

In very complicated cases, we assist you in the selection of vendors and the subsequent pilot-testing of the equipment.

We use the following equipment in our lab and pilotplant:

  • mobile Centriflex universal centrifuge for screening tests; beaker centrifuge (1200 mm diameter) for scale-up and optimization tests (both centrifuges can be fed while rotating);
  • 630 mm peeler centrifuge and 300 mm inverting filter centrifuge (hypercentrifugation with overpressure is possible) for pilot tests;
  • 250 mm screen conveyor centrifuge;
  • 200 mm pusher centrifuge;
  • 230 mm decanter;
  • several disk stack centrifuges;
  • mobile diagnostic unit for on-site optimization of filtering centrifuges;
  • proven and continuously upgraded evaluation and scale-up methods;
  • databases and knowledge management to keep our knowledge of products, methods and markets up to date.
