Membrane Technology
Separation – Reaction – Dosing
References
In cooperation with industry partners, research institutes and universities, we develop innovative membranes and processes. One example is the development of ceramic membranes for syntheses and separation processes in chemical and pharmaceutical production.
Mayor fields of application are:
- nanofiltration in organic solvents;
- pervaporation and vapor permeation membranes for dehydration of solvents and products;
- gas-phase reactions in high-temperature membrane reactors.
Other applications of membrane processes in the chemical and pharmaceuticals industries are:
- concentration of mono- and divalent salts, small molecules, polymers, proteins, viruses, up to particles and cells;
- hybrid distillation/vapor permeation processes;
- yield enhancement of equilibrium reactions in a membrane reactor;
- separation of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts and nanoparticles;
- concentration and purification of proteins;
- low-shear production of emulsions, e.g. for biological materials.
