Project Evaluation
Technology Evaluations and Expert Opinions
Our approach
Here are some of the issues that could be evaluated in a technology:
- Is the process state-of-the art? Where does it differ from the state-of-the-art process?
- Are there any known alternatives and where are they already in use?
- Is there adequate patent protection for the process or are there any patents that might prevent you using it?
- Where can improvements be made? What is the time and cost involved in such improvements and what is their commercial potential?
- Are the estimated conversion rates and yields realistic?
- Is the plant capacity realistic?
- Can potential bottlenecks already be identified?
- Do the energy consumption and raw material figures make sense? What options are there for recovery/recycling?
- Have all waste disposal issues been examined (ex-haust air, waste water, solid residues, etc.)? What are the recovery/recycling options?
- How sensitive is the process to variations in the type and/or quality of raw materials, environmental factors, etc.?
- How robust is the operating concept?
- What process steps determine the quality of the final products and are the relevant process steps well designed?
- What potential savety hazards are associated with the plant and what safety precautions concepts shoud be applied?
- Have the capital expenditures been estimated correctly?
- Are the manufacturing costs plausible?
