From the development and design of new processes to the optimization of set points and dynamic operating strategies for existing plants, process modeling has become an essential tool in almost all phases of a plant’s life cycle.

We at Bayer Technology Services have many years of experience working on demanding modeling projects. We also have a very thorough knowledge of the relevant methods and tools.

Therefore, we can offer you comprehensive support in the modeling, simulation and optimization of your processes:

  • modeling (definition of model equations);
  • parameter identification (determination of model parameters on the basis of measurements);
  • model validation (comparison of simulation results and actual process behavior).

Key requirements for successful modeling are the integration of existing process knowledge and the intertwining of simulation and experiment. This approach requires close cooperation with process developers and the on-site personnel responsible for running the process.

It goes without saying that we also support you in the area of experiment design, thus helping to minimize the effort required for the experimental determination of unknown model parameters. If necessary, we can also use the hybrid technology we have developed to combine data-based and rigorous models. Certain aspects that are difficult to capture in a rigorous model can be described, e.g., by a neural network.
