Increased utilization by a factor of ten
Consistent material data from the basis for a lot of other activities. The Bayer Materials Database has long been a secret source for experts. Five years ago, we made this resource accessible to everyone – via the Intranet (ProperView). More than 600 employees now use the material data on a regular basis.

A comprehensive solution
Planning and development processes are being revised and streamlined by the integration of tools and data. This comprehensive “Integration Platform” is the Process Data Warehouse (PDW) – which is now available to 170 users.

Available just by pressing a key
Even for existing models, VTPlan used to require a simulation specialist. Until we made it accessible via Excel – in only a few weeks. Now all you have to do is to press a key.

Re-using tried and true solutions
The problem: There are more than a hundred components for data mining, implemented in Matlab, Visual Basic and C/C++. But the new standard tool is written in Java – so what do you do? Reimplement all your components? What a nightmare! Fortunately there’s another way – Plug and Play with our component interface (BAYwiz).

Combination of strengths
Up to now you had to choose between two alternative approaches: process simulation or flow simulation. But since we have combined the strengths of the two methods by integrating tools, specialists are gaining new insights (CFD-integrated process simulation).

Value Management – with worldwide access
A management information and decision-support system: Portfolio management, scenario analysis, strategic planning. Our contribution: We have replaced the arbitrary calculations with a consistent database and methodology, and made them available worldwide via the Bayer Intranet.
