New Mixing Technology – Anti-Fouling Agitator
A new mixing device offers great advantages for polymer processes as well as processes in health care and food industry. The technology is suitable for processes with fouling problems and when short mixing times are crucial because it offers a complete self-cleaning mechanism. The Anti-Fouling Agitator technology can efficiently increase the productivity of a mixing vessel or a chemical reactor by reducing the down time for cleaning cycles or managing higher product concentrations in the process.
The self-cleaning mechanism is based on the installation of a central helical ribbon agitator and an eccentrically installed screw agitator. The profiles and the speed ratio of both agitators are precisely adapted so that all surfaces of the vessel, agitators including the two shafts are cleaned. The new technology can also improve the product quality as the mixing times are reduced over wide range of viscosities.
