Process Planning - The Core Activity in Chemical Plant Engineering
Our approach
Modern computer methods are utilized throughout process planning and for the associated specialist planning tasks. The BTS Quality Management System to DIN EN ISO 9001 ensures that all activities required in implementing the project are performed at the right time, with the right quality and with the right level of detail.
Project management and controlling are supported by our own Project Management System. For estimating investment costs, we use our INKOS calculation tool based on quantity structures of material. The level of detail can be adapted to the respective planning phase.
Process engineering calculations are performed using commercial tools such as the ASPEN Engineering Suite. For handling more complex issues, we continue to use in-house programs such as VTPLAN, which we developed ourselves.
For the actual planning of production plants, we utilize state-of-the-art 2D und 3D computer-based tools from Intergraph.
- 2D P&ID flow chart generation
- 3D Steel Engineering buildings
- 3D Equipment installation and equipment
- 3D Piping piping planning
- Design Review visualization of the 3D model
These tools are underpinned by databases and are used in differing levels of detail as required by the complexity of a given project. Even when integrating plants into existing production facilities, our experience enables us to use a virtual 3D model to ensure efficient planning.
